The Federal Government has announced that this year’s Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations organised by the National Examination Council (NECO) would commence in October.
This was announced by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong in a statement titled: “FG Rolls Out Schedule For National Examination.” According to the statement, NECO examination would start on October 5 and end on November 18, 2020.
Goong added that the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) examinations would start on September 21 and end on October 15, 2020.
The statement read: “Registration for NECO (SSCE) which is ongoing will end on September 10, 2020, and there shall be no extension for registration whatsoever.
“The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, therefore, directed all examination bodies to release details of their examination timetables in the next seven days.”
The federal government had ordered all schools nationwide to reopen on August 4 so that graduating students can write their examinations.
The government also said that the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) Examinations would begin on August 17.
