The Editorial Board of The Nigerian Canadian Newspaper congratulates Ogiame Atuwatse III, formerly known as Omoba Tshola Emiko on his installation as the 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom.
We, particularly salute the Kingdom for overcoming the issues that arose after the initial appointment of the Olu-designate, and urge the Olu to ensure that any outstanding matters should be amicably resolved in the interest of peace and tranquility.
We are aware that a lot of healing processes are ongoing. It is time for healing; and we enjoin the Olu to see to it that the entirety of the kingdom comes together.
As a Western-trained political scientist, and management expert, we urge the new Olu to use his gift and intellect to serve his people, and radiate the peaceful disposition of Itsekiris to peace in the Niger Delta region, and the country in general.
As a people oriented paper, we urge the Ogiame Atuwatse III to be people oriented and focus on policies that will bring monumental transformation to his kingdom in his reign.
We pray that this new era will herald greater transfiguration not just to the Itsekiris but the nation at large. More so, we pray that the new epoch will consolidate on the peace, progress and prosperity of all members of the Warri Kingdom.
