Napoli Football Club’s Manager, Gennaro Gattuso, has advised Victor Osimhen to keep working hard. The Manager revealed further that the striker’s personality had caught the eye of his new teammates.
The 21-year-old Super Eagles striker and Africa’s most expensive player and has been proving his worth for the Parthenopeans since his mega-money move from Lille in July.
He signed for Napoli for an initial €71.2 million with €10.1 million add-ons which takes the total fee to €81.3 million. That amount surpasses the £72 million Arsenal paid to Lille for Nicolas Pepe and makes him Africa’s most expensive signing.
Osimhen netted an eight-minute hat-trick in their pre-season game against L’Aquila and carried on with his fine start to life at Stadio San Paolo against Teramo.
While talking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Gattuso advised the Super Eagles star not to relent when the 2020-21 campaign starts.
He said: “Osimhen is a quiet guy who has to work a lot. He has a lot of physicalities, but he doesn’t have to be satisfied.
“He must keep working hard.
“The goals he scores right now don’t count for anything, but he fits in very well with the team. He jokes with everyone and makes himself loved.”
