Eve Wiggins has been announced by the City of Mississauga as its new director of transit.
Wiggins will resume office on November 7 and will replace the former director, Geoff Marinoff. Who retired recently.
Wiggins is an operations and service delivery executive with great senior leadership experience which includes her most recent role as Metrolinx’s vice president of bus services.
Also, she worked with the Toronto Transit Commission as head of the Wheel-Trans Division and worked with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority for twelve years.
While reacting to the appointment in a news release, Wiggins said: “It is an honour to be joining the City of Mississauga at this historic time for transit and I am excited to bring my passion for transportation to MiWay.

“I’m thrilled to work with the experienced MiWay team and looking forward to collaborating with our transit partners as well as the mayor and members of council to continue to grow transit and provide people with a reliable, safe, and convenient option for travel.”
She holds a Master of Science degree in airport planning and management from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and a diploma in airport operations management from Georgian College.
She will be reporting to the commissioner of transportation and works and will be responsible for every aspect of MiWay’s infrastructure and services that focus on planning and delivery of a safe and reliable transit experience.
Also, she will help in bringing in new services like the introduction of the Hazel McCallion LRT in the coming years.
