Mississauga and Brampton police vehicle wins national contest for vehicle graphics

A Peel Regional Police cruiser has won a national contest for vehicle graphics.

The Peel Police cruiser, a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, is decorated with a rainbow flag and the hashtag “SafePlace” on its door. The design was made by Cathy Miron, Peel Regional Police’s graphic designer.

The beautifully decorated cruiser won Blue Line Magazine’s Best Dressed Vehicle Award in the Community Relations Category.

The vehicle wrap aims to exhibit the commitment of the police force in supporting all members of the community.

In a recent tweet, Peel Regional Police said: “We are committed to a safe and inclusive workplace and community.”

The winning vehicles were featured by Blue Line magazine, a national law enforcement publication, in its March/April issue.

Blue Line noted that many 2SLGBTQ+ people struggle and feel isolated in today’s society.

While talking to Blue Line magazine, Mark Figueiredo, director of materials management at Peel Regional Police, said: “Overall, the tone of the vehicle is proud, direct and inclusive.”

He added that the vehicle shares the story of their “leading-edge police culture.”

He said: “We aspire to be the most progressive, innovative and inclusive police service in Canada.”

The annual Best Dressed Police Vehicle Awards exhibit innovative and effective designs for police vehicle graphics and equipment packages and installation.
