Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly, has reconfirmed that Canadians and their families will be able to leave Gaza soon.
Melanie Joly issued an update recently on X, saying she has spoken with her counterpart in Israel, Eli Cohen, about the issue.
Also, she said she received confirmation of Egypt’s cooperation.
Though the movement of foreign nationals leaving Gaza through the Rafah crossing since Wednesday has been slow, Global Affairs Canada officials said they were working around the clock to evacuate Canadians from Gaza.
They have asked Canadians to get their documents and “be ready to depart once we are informed that they can cross the border.”
Also, Joly’s message stated that G-A-C would communicate the latest information directly with Canadians.
