Masai Ujiri, the President of Basketball Operations for the Toronto Raptors, has been appointed to the Order of Canada.
The Order of Canada is the highest civilian honour in Canada and it recognises and rewards citizens “who make extraordinary contributions to the nation, [enrich] the lives of others and [make] a difference to this country.”

Ujiri is honoured for his contributions to basketball development as the president of Raptors and as a humanitarian. He is among the 85 people who were recently appointed to the Order of Canada by Governor General Mary Simon.
It is important to note that Masai confirmed that he was legally a Canadian citizen and a Canadian passport holder in 2020.
