The leadership of Marie Lemay at the Royal Canadian Mint has been reinforced by the Department of Finance Canada, which has reappointed her as the President and CEO for another five-year term. This term commences in February 2024, marking a continuation of her authority, which she first assumed in January 2019.
As the leader of the Royal Canadian Mint, Lemay is in charge of production and distribution of Canada’s circulation coins. She plays a pivotal role in the Mint’s strategic development and business performance and she reports directly to the Board of Directors. Also, her role includes sustaining the Mint’s position as a world leader as far as minting is concerned.
The outstanding career of Lemay has seen her occupy many senior governmental leadership positions that spanned over two decades. This includes pivotal roles like the Deputy Minister and Deputy Receiver General for Canada at Public Services and Procurement Canada. Her experience is accentuated by her management of a big workforce and budget, as well as a deep understanding of public policy.
