Lewis Hamilton has lent his voice to the #EndSARS campaign as it keeps drawing more international attention after the gruesome killing of peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate.
In a tweet posted by the British Formula 1 racer, he described the current events in Nigeria as a human rights crisis and noted that it is everybody’s responsibility to educate and create awareness about tragedies occurring in the world.
Hamilton posted a photo of him wearing a black T-shirt with the inscription #EndSARS and a map with the colour of the Nigerian flag. He however posted a link where people can sign up to demand an end to police brutality in Nigeria.
He tweeted: “We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves and raise awareness of the tragedies happening in the world around us and take action where we can. The recent events in Nigeria are a human rights crisis. Hit the link to find out more #EndSARS.”
