The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the Federal Government has not received the ventilators promised by the United States of America (USA).
The Minister revealed this during the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Coronavirus (COVID-19) daily briefing yesterday in Abuja.
The Minister made the disclosure while reacting to the backdrop of information being circulated over the 1,000 ventilators pledged by the United States President to Nigeria.
The Minister said: “To the best of my knowledge the ventilators promised by the U.S. President have not arrived Nigeria.”
It should be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari and Trump had a phone conversation few weeks ago at Trump’s request and during the phone conversation, Trump promised to send ventilators for Nigeria to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister said the ventilators have not yet arrived the country.
