Lagos Mainland, Eti-Osa and Mushin top Lagos State's COVID-19 cases

According the COVID-19 situation report released by Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, Lagos Mainland, Eti-Osa and Mushin top Lagos State’s coronavirus chart.

The chart was posted on the commissioner’s Twitter handle and from the chart, posted by the Professor, every local in Lagos State had reported cases of coronavirus with Lagos Mainland having 541 cases, Eti-Osa having 200 cases and Mushin having 138 cases.

Ikeja is next with 73 cases which is followed by Alimosho with 69 cases. Kosofe has 59 cases while Apapa has 55 cases.

Number 8 on the chart is Somolu with a record of 40 cases, Amuwo-Odofin has 35 cases, Oshodi-Isolo has 34 cases, Surulere has 31 cases, Lagos Island has 30 cases, Ibeju-Lekki has 26 cases, Ajeromi-Ifelodun has 18 cases, Agege has 13 cases, Ifako-Ijaiye has 12 cases, Ikorodu and Epe both have 8 cases each, Epe has 8 cases, Badagry has 5 cases and Ojo has 4 cases.

The commissioner revealed that more than 1507 cases were discovered while 406 cases have been discharged. The state still has 1037 active cases and has recorded 33 deaths so far.

While talking further on the situation of the pandemic in the state, the Honourable Commissioner said, “Isolation centres are situated at Gbagada Hospital; Lagos University Teaching Hospital; Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba; Onikan Stadium Centre; and Landmark Centre, Lekki Centre; First Cardiology. Agidingbi Isolation centre is dedicated to frontline health personnel. Isolation facilities to be set up in Badagry and Epe.

“Overall capacity utilisation of isolation centres is 45% as of now. The state is using this data to plan its strategies and where to place increased surveillance and isolation capacity.”
