The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has warned Canadians that many products from a chocolate brand are being recalled over possible salmonella contamination.
A food recall warning recently explained that Ferrero Canada Limited. is recalling many of its Kinder brand chocolate products including its famous mini eggs and Kinder surprise eggs due to possible salmonella contamination.
The products were sold across Canada including British Columbia.
The recall was propelled by a CFIA investigation and the agency is carrying out a food safety investigation, which may lead to other products being recalled. Meanwhile, no illnesses have been reported so far.
If you feel you fall sick from a recalled product, contact your doctor.
Recalled products should be thrown away or returned to the location where they were bought.
Food contaminated with salmonella may not appear or smell spoiled but it can still make you sick, as such, children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with low immunity may contract serious and sometimes fatal infections. Healthy people may encounter short-term symptoms like fever, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and abdominal cramps.
