June Ruto, the daughter of Kenya’s Vice President William Ruto’s daughter, recently got engaged to a Nigerian man during an elaborate ceremony that took place at the politician’s residence in Karen, a suburb in Nairobi.
Kenya’s Tuko reported that the entourage from Nigeria wore white agbada to the ceremony, where the families of June and Alex Ezenagu pledged to seal the union for eternity.
The news of the marriage has however triggered online reactions from Kenyans, with a lot of Kenyan men lamenting that Nigerians are whisking away their women.
Check out some of the reactions below:
Smat Sam: “Emmy Kosgey opened ways for Nandi girls? No men in Kenya.”
Tracey Anyona: “What do these Nigerians have that whenever they come to Kenya, they have to take our daughters?”
Jose Kipng’etich Tigerawling: “Kalenjin men, we should have a meeting.”
Generali Kipkirui Langat: “You mean there’s no single Kenyan who wooed June?”
Cmcc Cmc: “Kenyan men are not romantic.”
Ashira Manu: “I highly congratulate June.”
Djamille Kibotto: “And they will still say Kales don’t intermarry, ooh they fear English.”
Duntow Dakaljibis Dukamaraac: “Why is our country losing such a beautiful daughter to a foreign country as if we have shortage of men in Kenya?”
James Ekasiba: “Did hustlers try their luck?”
Last December, Ruto jokingly asked June to find a partner and marry as soon as possible as time was running out.
