Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, have received their first dose of a COVID -19 vaccine.
The couple received a shot of Oxford-AstraZeneca’s vaccine at Rexall pharmacy in Ottawa.
After the pharmacist rolled up Trudeau’s sleeve, he responded by saying: “I’m very excited,” Trudeau said in response to the pharmacist after rolling up his sleeve.
When the national vaccine rollout started in late 2020, Trudeau revealed he would receive the vaccine as soon as he was eligible to receive it.
Recently, Ontario extended its AstraZeneca vaccine eligibility to those aged 40 and above. Trudeau acknowledged that his office was “busy trying to book appointments” when the age limit was brought down.
