Nigerian actor and director, James Ikechukwu Esomugha best known as Jim Iyke has bagged a chieftaincy title in Ghana.
The 45-year-old veteran actor was conferred with the title “OHADIKE 1 OF NDIGBO” by HRH Dr. AMB. Chuwudi J Ihenetu, Ezi Ndibgo Ghana.
The chieftaincy title was conferred on the actor on the occasion of the 10th Yam Festival, which took place on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Harping on the development, Ihenetu said the actor was recognised for his tremendous achievements and contributions to the African entertainment industry and Igbo people.

Jim Iyke was born in Libreville, Gabon. His parents, from Ogwugwu Village in Enugu Agidi town of Anambra State, changed their name from Okolue to Esomugha. He is the only boy in a family of eight children. He attended secondary school in F. G. C. Kwali Abuja from 1985 to 1991, then earned a diploma in Banking and Finance and a BSc in Philosophy from the University of Jos, Plateau State.
The actor, who began his acting in 2001, is the founder of Jim Iyke Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities.
He started a movie production company, Untamed Productions in 2007, and also has his own music record label, Untamed Records. His first album, titled Who Am I?, featured some of Nigeria’s top musicians, such as TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan.
