The CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos has become the first person to have a net worth of $200 billion in the world.
As reported by Forbes, Bezos’ worth as at 1:50 ET on August 26, 2020 was $204.6 billion as of 1:50 pm ET as Amazon stock recorded 2% gain. The 56-year-old CEO who is currently the world’s richest person witnessed his net worth rise to $204.6 billion from $74 billion during in 2020.
According to the calculations of Forbes, Jeff’s fortune is the biggest ever realised even when factoring in inflation into account.
The report revealed that the stock price of Amazon has skyrocketed over the last few months, as loads of people have been compelled to stay inside and buy more products online owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Amazon’s share price has increased more than 100% since March 16, 2020 when it when it traded for below $1,700 per share.
Amazon worths $1.72 trillion and it is second in valuation to Apple, which worths $2.16 trillion.
