Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti, has talked about the struggles encountered by many women in their marriages.
According to her, 85% of women in marriages want to leave their marriages.
In a recent interview, the popular actress revealed that marriage becomes unbearable at some point due to the cultural differences of most couples.
While explaining further, Jaiye Kuti stated that during the marriage, couples tend to see the real sides of their partner which they didn’t know during the dating stage.
She used herself as an example and stated that she attempted to exit her marriage three times but found herself staying put.
She said: “If you ask a hundred women, 85% want to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave thrice. The problem is that when you marry someone from a different culture, people start to reveal their actual selves. A man would treat and pamper a woman when he wanted to get married, but when a second marriage and kids are involved, things go too far. Men can also have egotistical tendencies and are unstoppable when it comes to cheating.”
