According to Local media, Israel Adesanya has been arrested in New York.
The UFC sensation was arrested by the police and airport security some minutes after he arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport. Reports have it that while going through security, he was found in possession of metal knuckle.
In the United States, brass knuckles are illegal and according to an official, Adesanya could spend up to one year in prison if convicted.
Multiple media reports reveal that the incident happened around 1:57 p.m. local time as Adesanya was going through security checks at a terminal used by American Airlines.
It remains unclear whether an appearance ticket was issued or if Adesanya would be remanded in custody until his initial court appearance, which has not been scheduled yet.
