The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered CSP Abiodun Alabi, Lagos state Commissioner of Police, to commence a thorough investigation into the alleged shooting incident that involved some of the escorts of popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.
According to reports, Burna Boy visited Club Cubana in Lagos with five of his security details recently. While four of his escorts stayed outside the club, one of them identified as Inspector Ibrahim tagged along with him inside the club. However, trouble started when Burna Boy allegedly made passes at a married woman. Her husband got angry, an argument ensued, shots were fired and two people were injured.

A recent statement released by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson of the state police command, on the incident, reveals that the police boss has condemned the incident and has ordered a full-scale investigation.
The statement read: ”Police personnel alleged and identified in the shooting incident at Club Cubana in Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, have been taken into custody and are being investigated for their involvement in the incident.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba NPM, psc(+), fdc, who describes the circumstances surrounding the incident as unbelievable, has however condemned, in the strongest terms, the unfortunate incident.
Consequently, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and forward his report as urgent as possible for further action.”
