Nigeria’s Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to take part in money laundering of funds from business email compromise scams and other online heists.
While sharing the agreement, Journalist Evan Ratiff revealed that Hushpuppi now faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The agreement Hushpuppi entered is limited to United States Attorney’s Office and is not binding to other federal, state, local or foreign prosecuting authorities.

Henceforth, he will not contest the facts entered in the agreement and obey all agreements in respect of sentencing.
Also, Hushpuppi is expected to be truthful with the United States probation, pretrial services office and the court.
As things stand, Hushpuppi will pay around $1.7m as restitution, but this may likely change based on facts that emerge before sentencing.
