Hundreds of Nigerian returns from Lybia

On Wednesday, two hundred and sixty-two more Nigerians to be precised voluntarily came back home from libyan Arab Jamahiriya|African country|African nation} with the assistance of the international organization for Migration and the Nigerian Embassy in Libya.
The returnees arrived aboard a chartered Libyan Airlines airplane, that touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International airport, Lagos at ten p.m.
The returnees, who had been stranded in Libya, were made up of 108 males, 135 females, eight kids and 11 infants.
They were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and the Police.
Also on ground to receive them were officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
Addressing newsmen, Alhaji Mustapha Maihaja, the Director General, NEMA, said the agency together with the IOM was operating to ensure that Nigerians stranded in Libya are brought back home.
The director general who was represented by Mr Suleiman Yakubu, Zonal coordinator, South West, NEMA, said both the federal government and state governments had initiated numerous programmes to rehabilitate and integrate the returnees into the society.
He additional advised Nigerians, especially the youth, to take advantage of the large opportunities available within the country.
Thousands of Nigerians have been flown back home from the North African country with the assistance of the IOM.
