Members of the House of Representatives have adopted pay-per-view, pay-as-you-go, and price reduction for DSTV and other operators of cable satellite in Nigeria.
The lower legislative chamber members took the decision after they considered the reports of its Ad–hoc Committee on Non–Implementation of Pay–As–You–Go and unexpected increment of Tariffs plan by Broadcast Digital Satellite Service Providers.
The Committee Chairman, Unyime Idem, who presented the report during the plenary, said this development would bring about healthy competition in the industry with unending opportunities for the teeming youths.

He said: “The visible absence of competitors in the industry was tacit approval of monopoly of the industry by the present operators.”
Majority of the lawmakers agreed that the strict enforcement of government regulatory intervention measures would transform the industry and meet subscribers’ demands for Pay-as-you-go, Pay-Per-View, and price reduction for DSTV and other viable cable satellite operators in Nigeria.
