Harry Rosen Dies

Harry Rosen, the renowned figure in Canadian fashion and the founder of the luxury menswear retailer, Harry Rosen Inc., has died. He died at the age of 92. His name, which is synonymous with high-end men’s fashion, resonates across the Canadian fashion landscape and beyond, marking an era of elegance and a distinct standard in men’s apparel.

He launched the business with his brother in 1954 and steered the company for 51 years before he passed the baton to his son in 2005. Rosen’s visionary approach went beyond tailored suits for elites, incorporating casual wear and athleisure offerings into the repertoire of the brand, consequently expanding its consumer base and greatly boosting e-commerce sales.

Rosen was celebrated for his philanthropic works. His involvement with many charitable foundations and his immense contributions to society earned him the Order of Canada in 2004.

Though his death is a significant loss to the fashion world, his legacy lives on. The company is currently being controlled by a third generation of Rosens, with his grandsons Ian and Graham in executive roles, building on his vision as they approach their 70th anniversary in business in 2024.

He is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many family and friends who mourn his loss while celebrating his remarkable life and lasting legacy.

May his soul rest in peace.
