Ibrahim Gusau, the Nigerian Football Federation president, has praised the Flamingos despite their recent loss to Colombia.
After losing to Colombia via penalty shootout, Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team was not able to qualify for the World Cup final, which is currently taking place in India.
The Flamingos displayed a great performance in the match and were just one kick away from nailing a spot in the final.

Gusau was present in Goa to cheer on the girls and congratulated the team on social media.
He tweeted: “Amazing performance by the girls and I’m very proud of them despite the outcome of the match. Their development and welfare remains a priority to us. Well done girls👏 #SoarFlamingos.”
The third-place match will be played on Friday between the Flamingos and Germany.
