Three months after the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) ordered Google to remove apps of some online lending platforms, the search engine platform deleted Sokoloan and two other apps from its Playstore.
According to reports, Sokoloan, Speedy Choice, and EasyMoni are no longer listed on Google Playstore.
Meanwhile, Google retained GoCash, EasyCredit, and Okash on its Playstore.
Apart from Sokoloan, the other two credit apps are owned by Blue Ridge.
The two companies have been accused of data abuse and blackmailing of users on social media platforms.
FCCPC had earlier fined Sokoloan N10 million over its illegal practices. Also, it promised to file a lawsuit against the directors of the company over their involvement in illegal activities.

Sokoloan app was removed on Google Playstore after the company’s premises were raided by FCCPC officials.
Also, the commission blocked the platform’s accounts and asked Google and Apple to remove the app from their app store.
