Funke Akindele, Hubby Bag 14 Days Community Service And N100,000 Fine

Nollywood Diva, Funke Akindele and her husband (JJC Skillz) have been sentenced to 14-day community service and a fine of N100,000 each.

Funke and her husband were arrested by Lagos State Police Command operative after a viral video that showed a large number of people in an estate situated along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos celebrate a birthday party that was arranged by Funke Akindele Bello and her hubby Abdul Rasheed Bello.

The couple were charged to court for breaking restriction orders in Lagos State.

At around 11am today, Funke and her husband were arraigned at the Chief Magistrate Court 1 Ogba on one count charge.

They were conveyed to Court by detectives from Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba. The detectives were led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation, DCP Yetunde Longe.

Hon. Attorney General of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN led the prosecuting team.

The court read the charge to the accused persons and they pleaded guilty.

Since they pleaded guilty and been found guilty as charged, they were given the following sentence:

They are to pay a fine of N100,000 each, sentenced to 14 days community service, three hours per day, excluding Saturday and Sunday; each Defender shall visit 10 important public places within Lagos State to educate the public on the consequences of the non compliance with the restriction order; and they must submit the names and phone numbers of every person who attended the party.

They shall be placed on isolation by the State Government to determine their COVID-19 status. Failure to abide by the above shall attract more severe punishments.
