Premier Doug Ford has said businesses should be permitted to deny anyone not wearing a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic the service he or she needs.
Ford made this statement while talking to reporters yesterday during his daily teleconference. He said: “Any business has the right to refuse anyone — that’s their business. I highly, highly encourage that people put on a face shield.”
Meanwhile, while reacting to this statement, Michael Bryant, the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association said the Ontario Human Rights Code forbids retailers to discriminate against any customer.
