A broken water main has left a major road in Mississauga completely flooded, trapping motorists.
While talking about the flood, Peel Regional Police said they received a call about the water main break at Lakeshore Rd. and Lorne Park Rd. around 4:36 p.m. Two drivers were trapped by the break with one climbing up to the roof of his vehicle.
They said fire crews got to the scene by 5:30 p.m. and helped the driver down from the roof and that they were working to get the second driver out of their car.
Many residents in the area have called 911 to report flooding in their basements.

Police have closed down Lakeshore Rd. for about 2.5 kilometres between Lorne Park Rd. and Mississauga Rd as a result of the broken water main.
Ontario and Peel Region repair crews were also at the scene to repair the break.
Repair crews were able to shut off the flow of water under Lakeshore Rd but they were unable to fix the break as of 9 pm so the road was closed overnight for repairs and clean-up.
