“And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.15 And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.” Gen 14-15,19.
1. Hear: There are things you must hear before you get to where you are going in life.- Call it information –this you must have- “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. 22 Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!” Isaiah 30:21-23.
Look back and you will find out that it was what you heard yesterday that culminated largely to where you are today. One day at the Federal School of Arts and Science Victoria Island Lagos, I eavesdropped on two students discussing and one mentioned Chemical Engineering! It sounded nice to me . I went to college and followed it to doctorate level! As they say, the rest is history.
2. See: “And God opened her eyes ( Hagar) and she saw a well of water, and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”Gen. 21:19
There are things you must see for you to have life supplies. Abraham gave Hagar and Ishmael a bottle of water. In no time it finished. Even if she was given a barrel, she was still limited. God opened her eyes to the well. Gen 21:21. The CAC North America Bible Institute where I served as Dean, graduated sets of Deacons. Deaconesses and Evangelists July 14, 2023 and I told them the Institute gave you “a bottle of knowledge “ but for you to prove your ministry you need to pray to see and search for the well of knowledge. I pray for you the supplies you need in the journey of life, the right spouse career, and businesses your inner eyes shall locate them in Jesus name .
3. Possess- You must possess knowledge, understanding and wisdom to navigate the highly complex and complicated life challenges. Prov 24:3-4 Knowledge –Understanding- wisdom-“Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. Prov 24:3-5.
Mark Zuckerberg –started a new app called Thread –Wednesday July 5, 2023 it has over 70 million users in a matter of days. Solomon possessed wisdom he became the richest man in the world. Isaac Newton understood the world of nature –he established the law of gravity, light, and motion. May you not be knowledge, understanding and wisdom deficient in the journey of life.
4. Power- In the journey of life you need power. Spiritual, financial and political power. The Yorubas have an adage- “Ti owo omode ko ba ba Eku ida, ko ni bere iku to pa baba eni.” Meaning until a son hasa access to power(weapon) he can not arise to challenge who killed his father! To succeed and overcome life challenges you need Power.
Satan used his power to throw man out garden of Eden.If God has no power to throw Satan from heaven whom he created as Morning Star, Satan would have overthrown God. How many women have lost their marriages to other women who use diabolical powers to seduce those husbands? Many politicians do everything including diabolical means, killings, thuggery, lobbying and money to get power, to control the resources of their nation or region.
Jesus said “ I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”Lk 24:49. Tarry you in Jerusalem until you are endued with power. No matter how long it takes seek for power! Also realize power has levels.
The story in Ezekiel 47:1-6 from ankle to knee to waist until the swimming level talks about levels of power you need. The lower power must bow to superior power. Receive today the superior power of the Holy Ghost – Act 1:8
5. People. You need the right people. For Jesus to be born to redeem humanity from sin, God needed Mary. Jesus had twelve disciples to accomplish his earthly ministry as well as carry on the redemption project on his relocation to heaven. David had mighty men around him to conquer his enemies. As they say, no man is an island. You alone cannot do ministry run that organization or institution. Think of where you are today, and how people have helped you. I pray for you that you will not lack the right people around you in the journey of life. Remember you also must help others to succeed.
Conclusion: The good news is that God is the supplier of all. I pray for you today you will hear the right word, see the right things, possess knowledge, understanding, wisdom and power, you shall be connected to the right people on earth. May you succeed in the journey of life. Amen–
