The Federal Government has announced that the 104 Unity Schools across the country will be fully reopened on October 12, 2020.
The announcement was made by Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, during a recent press conference in Abuja.
While making the announcement the Honourable Minister said State Governments and owners of private schools were free to reopen based on guidelines designed for the safe reopening of schools. The Minister urged colleges to abide by the COVID-19 protocol guidelines put in place to curb the spread of the virus.
The Minister pledged to close down schools found guilty of contravening any of the COVID-19 protocols.
Schools across Nigeria were closed in March 2020 as part of efforts to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
