The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has said it would increase Passenger Service Charges on both domestic and international flight tickets by 100 percent from August 1, 2020.
The Managing Director of FAAN, Rabiu Yadudu, made this known in a letter dated June 22, 2020, with reference FAAN/HQ/MD/18E/VOL.86/72, written to airlines.
By implication, the Passenger Service Charges on domestic flights will be increased N1,000 to N2,000 on August 1.
Also, FAAN will increase charges on international flights from $50 to $100. This development is expected to trigger an increase in the cost of local and international tickets.
Yadudu made it known to the airlines that the increment had been approved by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika adding that FAAN is working on improving and upgrading airports’ infrastructure across Nigeria.
