The England Football Association has confirmed that racist trolls attacked Marcus Rashford, Jordan Sancho, and Bukayo Saka online after England was defeated by Italy in the recently played Euro 2020 final match.

These three players missed from the penalty spot as the Italian national team won 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the final game ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of play. 

The three players were racially abuse on social media after they failure to convert their penalty kicks.

The England Football Association in a statement has condemned the racist abuse, before disclosing that they ‘stand with our players”

A statement released by the football body on Twitter read: “We’re disgusted that some of our squad, who have given everything for the shirt this summer have been subjected to discriminatory abuse online after tonight’s game. We stand with our players”.
