Pope Francis has prayed for restoration of peace in Nigeria following the gruesome killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters at Lekki tollgate.
After the Pope recited the Angelus from a window overlooking St. Peter’s Square, he said he prayed for restoration of peace “through the promotion of justice and the common good.”
He said: “I follow with particular concern the news coming from Nigeria about the recent violent clashes between law enforcement agencies and some young protesters.
“We pray to the Lord that all forms of violence will always be avoided, in the constant search for social harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good.”
Also, the Pope posted on his Twitter handle call for prayers for Nigeria against every form of violence that might erupt after the #ENDSARS protests.
He tweeted: “Let us pray to the Lord for Nigeria, so that every form of violence might always be avoided, in the constant search of social harmony through the promotion of justice and the common good.”
