The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero has made a passionate appeal to the Canadian embassy in Nigeria to review the process of issuing Visa to Nigerians.
The Emir made the appeal recently while receiving the Canadian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Nicolas Simard, who was on a courtesy visit to the Emir’s palace in Kano.
He described the process of getting Canadian visa as tedious, and urged the embassy to review the process in a bid to make it easier for Nigerians.
The noted that the long existing ties between the two countries has remained cordial.
However, he stressed the need to improve collaboration in cultural preservation, girl-child education and economic growth.
While talking during the visit, the Ambassador made it known to the Emir that his visit to the palace was to amliorate working synergy between the embassy and Kano Emirate.
Simard said Canada is committed to helping Nigeria in combating the spread of COVID-19, improving education and health care delivery.
While thanking the Ambassador for the courtesy call, the Emir promised to back any move that will better the lives of the people.
Also, the Canadian ambassador paid a similar visit to the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Hamisu Chidari.
