The embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has appeared at the Federal Capital Territory High Court to request variation of his bail conditions.
However, the Nigerian Government has again amended the charges against the former CBN governor.

The new charges include forgery, conferring of corrupt advantage, criminal breach of trust, and so on.
He is standing trial on six counts which border on procurement fraud up to N1.2 billion.
He was released from Kuje Custodial Centre on December 23, 2023, 34 days after the judge admitted him to bail.
This is the first time Emefiele will appear in court without being guided into the courtroom by security personnel.
