After purchasing Twitter for around $44 billion, Elon Musk, Tesla CEO has pledged to buy Coca-Cola and ‘put the cocaine back in.’
Musk made his intention known via his Twitter handle recently when he tweeted: “Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in.”
Musk is well known for his strange statements on Twitter so he might be joking.
In the past, he polled Twitter users, asking if he should sell 10% of his Tesla stock in a bid to fund unrealized capital gains, after which he has actually sold off approximately $7 billion in Tesla shares when above 57% of poll participants voted in favour of his suggestion.
At one point, Coca-Cola, a leading soft drinks producer, used coca leaves, which has cocaine in them, when the ingredient was considered medicinal in the nineteenth century.
The amount of cocaine present in Coca-Cola was reduced over time and was finally eliminated from the drink in 1929.
