Farmers in Africa can now apply for the 2020 edition of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize. The prize aims at rewarding the brightest young agri-food entrepreneurs in African countries with funding and mentorship.
The GoGettaz competition is looking for African agriculture businesses that incorporate technology and innovation to the agriculture and food industries. Two winners will win the sum of US$50,000 each to advance their business.
Apart from the two winners, ten finalists will gain from GoGettaz’s package of support to improve their business while no fewer than 250 applicants will gain from online training to energize their business plans.
While talking about the prize, GoGettaz said: “We need strong agriculture and food businesses to get us through the pandemic and grow our communities and economies when it’s over. We want to support your businesses to become profitable and scale, so you can lead the way.”
To be eligible for application, the entrepreneur must be aged 18-35 on the day of submission to the competition, hold nationality (with official ID) from any of the 54 nations of the African Union, be the founder/co-founder of the enterprise he or she represents in the competition and play an active role in its operations and leadership, have no criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, felony or other offense and not be a previous GoGettaz finalist.
Applications are open until June 18, 2020.
