The Minister dropped the hint in Abuja on Friday while speaking to newsmen. According to him, Ibrahim El zakzaky and some members of his family and Shiite members are in protective custody with the DSS.
“I think there’s a deliberate misunderstanding on the issue, number one, if a judgment is given and that judgment is appealed, you cannot accuse the government of violating that order if the appeal has not been decided.”
Many civil rights groups have condemned the continued detention of the Shiite leader after a confrontation with the military last year. A court had initially ruled that El Zakzaky be released but the federal government filed an appeal.
