Paulo Dybala has beaten Juventus team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, to 2019/2020 season’s Serie A Player of the Year award.
Dybala was announced as the winner of the award recently by Lega Serie A, meaning Ronaldo will not retain the title he won in his first year at Juventus.
Dybala was named as the 2019/2020 Most Valuable Player by the Italian football’s governing body while Juventus’ latest signing, Dejan Kulusevski emerged as the Young player of the Year after an outstanding season at Parma.
Dybala scored 11 goals and recorded 11 assists in 33 Serie A matches for Juventus during the recently concluded season. He bounced back strongly after enduring a difficult season during Massimiliano Allegri’s final season.
The 26-year-old player struggled to fit into a new role in the team after Ronaldo came to Juventus from Madrid but got his mojo back under the watch of Maurizio Sarri.
