The Duchess of York, Sarah, has bagged a book deal for her debut adult novel, a historical romance fiction which chronicles the life and loves of her great-great-great aunt.
In a promotional video recently posted on her Twitter account, the Duchess said the novel, titled ‘Her Heart for a Compass’, is set in the Victorian era and is just about how to dare to follow your heart against all odds.
In the video, the duchess put on a Victorian-style outfit and described her heroine as powerful, rebellious and courageous.
Publisher Mills & Boon, said the story line borders on Sarah’s ancestor, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott, who ran away from an arranged marriage and the confines of normal society.
Also, the duchess said she drew on many parallels from her life for the love story.
Sarah was married to Queen Elizabeth’s third child, Prince Andrew, but the couple parted ways in the 1990s. Previously, she has published her memoirs and written quite a number of kiddies books.
Her new novel, that was written with author Marguerite Kaye, will be published in August.
