(NC) Maybe you’ve vaped since the first e-cig came out and because the vape shop is in your grocery loop. Maybe you don’t know an atomizer from a vape coil, but you’re vaping, and want to know more about it. Our message is twofold. Follow these tips to stay safe.
If you don’t smoke, don’t vape. Many e-liquids contain nicotine, which is highly addictive and especially dangerous for youth because their brains are still developing and vaping can expose users to toxic chemicals that they would not otherwise be exposed to.
Smoking? Consider switching completely. Did you know that, if you are a smoker, switching completely to vaping is less harmful than smoking? Many toxic and cancer-causing chemicals in tobacco form when tobacco is burned. Vaping products don’t contain tobacco, don’t involve burning and don’t produce smoke. Except for nicotine, vaping products typically only contain a small fraction of the 7,000 chemicals found in tobacco smoke, and at lower levels. If you can’t quit nicotine, or don’t want to, you may want to consider switching completely from smoking cigarettes to vaping in order to reduce your exposure to many of these toxic chemicals.
