Derek Chisora is setting his sights on an all-British encounter with Anthony Joshua but he knows that bout can only happen if he wins Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua wins Kubrat Pulev.
Chisora was planning to fight Oleksandr Usyk on May 23 before COVID-19 pandemic led to the fight’s suspension while Joshua was preparing to fight Kubrat Pulev.
Chisora has disclosed he is ready to challenge the Watford-born champion if they both emerge victorious from their fights.
While talking to The Sun, Chisora said: “Hopefully the AJ fight happens if we both win.
“I don’t know how I will approach it, we go back a long way and I have never called him out or tried to make a fight with trash talk or anything like that.
“If the fight is made I think I would just call him and say, man-to-man, ‘Get ready for war’.”
While advising Joshua about his fight with Pulev, Chisora said: “Pulev is resilient and has a hard-to-beat European style.
“He will try to make things difficult for AJ, he will want to hold and take away AJ’s skills.
“The performance in the Ruiz rematch was technical and skilled. But against Pulev I want to see that explosive, powerful guy come back and get the sensational win.”
