The Enugu State Government has announced that the COVID-19 patient who ran away from the Delta State Isolation and Treatment Centre and fled to Enugu has been arrested.
The patient tested positive to coronavirus disease in Delta and was transferred to an isolation center but ran away from the isolation centre and fled to Enugu state.
While talking about the arrest, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Media, Louis Amoke, said sequel to the development, Enugu State’s COVID-19 taskforce began to search for the patient and he was arrested. He said further that the state government has begun contact tracing of the people the patient came in contact with and all the places the patient went to has been decontaminated.
The patient has been sent back to Delta state government.
