A Georgia court has ordered Tyrese Gibson to pay his ex-wife $10,000 a month in child support.
As part of his divorce case with his wife, Tyrese was in court in Georgia recently and matters have finally ended with the judge’s insistence that the order for the 43-year-old singer-and-actor to pay over $10,690 every month for the care of three-year-old Soraya is not “a punishment.”
According to TMZ, the judge said: “This is not a punishment for you. Put that money where it belongs, in the child!”

Also, the judge advised the former couple not to talk bad about each other in the presence of their daughter and told Tyrese to be glad if his ex-wife, Samantha – who had originally requested $20,000 a month child support – moved into a better apartment because that would mean a better standard of living for their daughter.
The child support sum was backdated to when Samantha first filed for divorce in September 2020, implying that her ex-husband owes her a lump sum of $209,000.
The judge however reduced the amount by $46,000 after noting that Tyrese had been paying for Samantha’s car for the last two years.
None of the parties will pay spousal support, and the judge agreed to Tyrese’s request that he keeps a Range Rover and Samantha was given a Land Rover instead.

At the end of the hearing, Samantha’s petition for divorce was granted by the judge, so both parties are now officially single.
The duo announced in December 2020 that they had separated but vowed to be “best of friends.”
They said in a joint statement: “We have decided to make a statement of a painful and significant development in our lives. After much thought, consideration, and prayer. We unfortunately have made the difficult decision to officially separate and divorce.
“Our intention is to remain the best of friends and strong co-parents. We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other.
“Our journey together has been a ride of both ups and downs, but it’s a journey that neither of us would have chosen to take with anyone else. We truly have so much love and respect for each other.”
