The Christ Embassy Church is under investigation by the Ghanaian Police for allegedly holding a crowded event and breaching the COVID-19 protocol in the country.
Recently, thousands of enthusiastic Christ Embassy members gathered at the Fantasy Dome for an event organized by Christ Embassy titled “Pneumatic Night.” Videos posted online revealed that the venue was filled to capacity.
In a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service, Christ Embassy was accused of not complying with the COVID-19 protocols and contravening the threshold of the number of people that could gather for a church event at a place.
Though the Fantasy Dome has been closed down, the church is likely be prosecuted if found guilty after the police investigate.
Part of the statement read: “NEWS RELEASE: Christ Embassy Youth Church “Pneumatic Night”. The Police is investigating an alleged gathering by the Christ Embassy Church at Trade Fair Centre Accra on Friday, April 30, 2021, in flagrant disregard of COVID-19 protocols putting the entire country at risk of spreading COVID-19. The Police did not provide security for the said event and warns that those who breached the law will face consequences.”
