China has struck a deal with South Korea to establish a “fast track” for businessmen to travel between both countries as Beijing seeks to relax the entry ban imposed on foreigners in a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus.
China prevented foreigners from entering the country following the global spread of the pandemic as Chinese experts felt the spread could rise geometrically in China by those coming in.
The Foreign Ministry’s spokeaman, Geng Shuang told the press today that China is also holding talks with countries like Singapore to establish a similar model of stabilising economic cooperation and make sure supply chains run effortlessly.
While briefing the press about the development, Geng said: “China is in talks with relevant countries to set up fast-track channels allowing… business and technical personnel to travel.
“The purpose is to stabilise important economic and trade cooperation… and to ensure the safe and smooth operation of international industrial and supply chains.”
“Beijing has reached a consensus with Seoul on the fast-track channel and both sides are working to implement the plan. China and Singapore have also discussed personnel exchanges via video conference.”
However, Geng did not disclose the other countries authorities were holding talks with.
