According to report, Argentina’s Central Bank is considering a Lionel Messi banknote after the sensational star guided the country to its first World Cup win since 1986.
As reported by El Financiero, the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina is eager to commemorate the team’s historic win in Qatar and its officials have been brainstorming ideas before the team played the final match against France.

Mock-ups of the 1,000 peso note that was discussed have gone viral and fans want to see it enter circulation.
El Financiero revealed further that a major reason the 1,000 peso note is considered is that it begins with a ’10’, Messi’s shirt number for Argentina.
While the grinning face of Messi is proposed for one side of the note, the group’s nickname ‘La Scaloneta’ is proposed for the back of the note.
In 1978, officials of the apex bank issued commemorative coins when Argentina won its first World Cup.
Also, commemorative coins were produced on the 50th anniversary of the death of Eva Perón, the former First Lady of Argentina.
