The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has disclosed that the closure of its office in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, to the public will persist till further notice.
The High Commission made the disclosure in a statement on its X account.
The statement read: “The High Commission of Canada to Nigeria in Abuja remains closed to the public until further notice. However, all High Commission services – including immigration and consular – continue to be provided.
“If you require urgent in-person consular assistance, limited services are available temporarily at the British High Commission, in Abuja.
“For emergency consular assistance, call the Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa.”
Recall that in November 2023, the Canadian High Commission announced that it had suspended its operations in Abuja till further notice.
The suspension was announced after a deadly fire incident that happened at the office on November 6, 2023.
The fire incident claimed the lives of two people and left two others injured.
