The application process for the CDCP will unfold in several phases, with specific groups becoming eligible to apply at different times. Here’s the breakdown:
Seniors aged 87 and above: Applications opened in December 2023.
Seniors aged 77 to 86: Applications began in January 2024.
Seniors aged 72 to 76: Applications started in February 2024.
Seniors aged 70 to 71: Applications commenced in March 2024.

Seniors aged 65 to 69: Eligible to apply starting May 2024.
Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate: Eligible to apply starting June 2024.
Children under the age of 18: Eligible to apply starting June 2024.
All remaining eligible Canadian residents: Application opens in 2025.
At present, personalized application codes and instructions are being distributed to seniors aged 70 and over. These letters serve as invitations to apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan.
If you receive a letter: Individuals who receive a letter inviting them to apply for the CDCP should take note that their personal application code expires on April 30, 2024. Further instructions on how to proceed after this date will be provided.
If you’re eligible to apply starting in May 2024: Those eligible to apply from May 2024 onward will have the opportunity to do so online. Detailed information regarding the online application process will be made available closer to the opening date.
