Canadian couple, Chantal Jauvin and William Thomas, are over halfway through their cycling mission to generate money for the Foundation For Rehabilitation & Development of Children and Family (FORDEC).
FORDEC is one of the major Thai charities in the education and social development sector and it is dedicated to helping underprivileged children and disadvantaged families irrespective of their race or religion in Bangkok.

The charity offers material and moral support at its centre or through its activities and programs, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the needy, with integrity, dedication and love.
FORDEC’s mission is to give vulnerable children one healthy meal a day, basic education, and support for their families. With the help of FORDEC, many children can attend regular and high school.
The couple commenced their journey on January 10 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya in central Thailand, moved east through Sara Buri, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin, and northward via Maha Sarakhkam to Khon Kaen in northeast Thailand.
They later headed west through Chaiyaphum and northward through Phetchabun, Phitsanulok, Uttaradat, Phrae, Lampang and reached Chiang Rai in northernmost recently.

An update posted by the couple from Chiang Rai read: “We’ve made GREAT progress this week crossing our 1,500km milestone in our Cycling Challenge for Children’s Learning to keep vulnerable Thai children in school!
“We now have only three weeks left to reach our fundraising goal of 1 million baht (approx US$28,000).”
The couple has completed 63% of the cycle ride and generated 60% (601,291 baht) of their one million baht goal.
Donations can be made here to encourage the couple’s cause.

All the donations will go to FORDEC.
